Thousand-Buddha Motif Teapot

Product Overview

Name: Thousand Buddhas (Qian Fo)

Clay Type: Jiangpo Ni

Capacity: 120cc

Form: Original Design (Sculptural Ware · Enamel Painting)

Form Origins

An original design form with geometrically shaped knob and handle as its design highlight—sharing the same design lineage as the “Hu Dundun” series. The knob and handle are tilted, geometric, and asymmetrical, with a duck-bill spout (for high pouring efficiency) and a tall, slender body. The overall form strikes a balance between modern geometric aesthetics and traditional Zisha.

Description

The appearance of the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang, a group of caves carved along the cliff, connected by wooden plank roads, has a profound history and culture.

The nine story building of Mogao Grottoes features red wooden pavilions embedded in the earthy yellow cliffs, with flying eaves and upturned corners.

Close up of Thousand Buddha Murals, seated Buddha statues arranged in warm yellow, lotus pedestal base, solemn and dignified.
