Hu Dundun · White Duan Ni with Baoxiang Flower

Clay Type: White Duan Ni | Capacity: 140cc

Decoration: Matte enamel Baoxiang flower pattern + silver tracing

Form Origins

“Hu Dundun” is an original form series, with geometrically shaped knob and handle as its core design highlight. The name “Hu Dundun” was inspired by the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics—the mascot “Bing Dwen Dwen” and the disc-shaped curling stone with its figure-7 handle provided the designer’s inspiration. The knob and handle feature tilted geometric forms, directly referencing the lines of the curling stone’s figure-7 handle. The body is plump like a crouching creature, presenting an overall “New Chinese” design aesthetic. In use, a three-finger grip method is employed—the middle finger and thumb hold the handle while the index finger rests against the knob, enabling effortless pouring with elegant posture, distinctly different from the traditional “thread-through method” (inserting the index finger through the handle).
